Labor Day Weekend at SLC
Surprise Lake Camp has been hosting Family Camping Weekend over Labor Day for more than 30 years. This is a time for friends to reconnect and reminisce about their summers at Surprise Lake, families to enjoy Camp the same way their kids do all summer long and guests to sit back, relax and swim in the lake (and pool!).

The Hamberg Family
For some, this is an old family tradition. Tess Hamberg was a camper at SLC for six years and a staff member for five years, but this was her 24th year at Family Camping Weekend. She’s been attending since she was two years old.

Sunkin and her friends, during their reunion
Jamie Sunkin and her friends reunited at Camp this weekend to reflect on their years as campers. They stayed in a bunk in Lakeview, where they lived in 2008. During the weekend, they went boating, stood on the stage of the Eddie Cantor Theater, and woke up early one morning to watch the sunrise.

Matt and his son, Braden at Fire Tower
Matt Grosshandler and his son Braden took a hike to Fire Tower with family and friends. Matt attended SLC as a child, returned on the staff, served as a Waterfront Director, is now on SLC’s Board and his kids Sammi and Braden are campers now too.

Water Aerobics in the Pool
Whether guests are brand new to SLC or have been at Camp for generations there is something for everyone from sunrise to late into the evening around the campfire. Its the best way to tie a bow around what has been an amazing summer.
