Mainside Boys Weekly Update
You will not be surprised, but we had yet another fantastic week at camp! Even though it was HOT, we managed to stay cool, hydrated and UV protected all while having as much fun as possible!
One moment that made me proud this week was during our big, egg-exciting, egg-stravaganza egg-lympics event on Wednesday. Egg-lympics is exactly what it sounds like: a morning full of egg-based activities. We had egg archery, egg toss, egg hunts, and practically every egg-related competition you would think of. However, I think the egg fashion show is where the campers shined this week. Each camper was tasked with drawing, naming, and dressing their eggs with anything and everything in the Arts and Crafts shack. While we intended this activity to be more on the goofy side, the campers decided to take it VERY seriously. They went to work creating their masterpieces. You could see the passion and dedication the campers had to their eggs as they drew detailed faces and crafted intricate egg-ccessories. Each egg had a lively backstory and reasoning for every speckle, sharpie line, and crack. It was great to see just how creative they could get with just a carton of eggs!
Yesterday, our unit participated in an all day “Maccabi Games,” consisting of Gold Rush, and most interesting – Raft Building. The unit broke off into groups and created from scratch their own cardboard rafts, in which they tested to see if they could float or sink in our pool.
As always, we are so proud to be a part of the best unit in camp and look forward to another awesome week!
