Program Highlight: Path to Drumming

Path to Rhythm is a group drumming program and we are lucky to welcome them for the second time. They are visiting Teenside campers today, showing them how to create connection through music. Path to Rhythm comes to us with lots of energy and inspiration and the campers feed off of it, playing music and games.

During their visit with Timberline, Boulder Hill, Sherwood and Merrylane, our campers received an introduction to drumming techniques, a movement activity, an “ice breaker” rhythm game, a call and echo activity, a group drum jam and a beat box demonstration that teaches campers how to express rhythm.

For many of our campers this was their first time drumming, we watched them feel a combination of empowered, creative and better connected to one another. Lucky for us, we echo down here in the Hudson Valley and the drumming can be heard across the lake! Our Mainside campers could hear the sounds of the drums – increasing their excitement to be Teenside campers one day.
