  • Surprise Lake Camp has a sliding fee scale based on family size and income.  Please see our scholarships page for more information.
  • Grades are as of September 2016. (the grade completed before camp begins)
  • Campers who are in 7th grade may be placed on Mainside or Teenside based on availability and a discussion with the family.
  • Age is as of June 30, 2017.

Work Program

Session 1: $5,000
Session 2:  $5,000

Sibling Discount

$200 for every additional full-fee child registered for same session as first child.

Deposit

The deposit is $500 per session for each child.  This fee is applied to the total charge.  A space is not reserved until all forms and the registration fee have been received.  The deposit is non-refundable after December 31, 2016.

Payment Schedule

50% due by January 15, 2017.  Full payment is due by April 15, 2017, or equal monthly payments through April 15, 2017.   

Canteen/Trips

Second Session Upper Teens and Work Program:  $300 for three day trip.
Trip and canteen fees are included for all other campers, although spending money is recommended for trips.

Transportation

There is an additional charge for those who choose bus transportation of $60 per child round trip.

Visiting Day - Visits are not permitted at any other time!

First Session – Sunday, July 16
Second Session – Sunday, August 6

Tuition Policy

All camper summer tuition must be paid in full by April 15.  It is camp's policy that summer tuition becomes non-refundable after April 15.  Surprise Lake Camp maintains a deep commitment to ensuring that camp is affordable to all families. If, at any time, you have questions about tuition, payment, or deadlines, please call us to have a confidential conversation.

Refund Policy

Full refunds will be given (without penalty) for campers on a “Waiting List” (those not able to be placed in their desired session at Camp) if at any time they choose to be removed from the list or are ultimately unable to be placed.  Should a camper be withdrawn from Camp for a medical issue, a refund on a pro-rated basis will be made for the period of the Camper’s departure from Camp.  Refunds will not be made if a camper has attended any portion of the session at Camp. This covers all circumstances (barring the exception above), including, but not limited to:  Camper’s homesickness; Camper’s refusal or inability to participate in the normal activities at Camp;  Camper’s violation of any rules, regulations or policies at Camp for which the camper has been provided notice, and as described in our other written policies.

Rules for acceptance and participation in the program are the same for everyone without regard to race, color, gender, sexual orientation, handicap, age, or national origin. 

Donations

Camp is grateful to the many families over the years that have elected to donate refunds to which they were entitled to camp’s scholarship fund.
