Session 1 or Session 2   $5,350
  • Surprise Lake Camp has a sliding fee scale based on family size and income.  Please see our scholarships page for more information.
  • Age is as of June 30, 2018.
  • Rules for acceptance and participation in the program are the same for everyone without regard to race, color, gender, sexual orientation, handicap, age, or national origin. 


The deposit is $500 per session for each child.  This fee is applied to the total charge.  A space is not reserved until all forms and the registration fee have been received.  The deposit is non-refundable after January 15, 2018.

Payment Schedule

Equal monthly payments September - April, or 50% due by January 15, 2018 and the balance by April 16, 2018.   

Sibling Discount

$200 for every additional camper.


Trip and canteen fees are included for all campers (except for our oldest campers - see below), although spending money is recommended for trips.

There is a $350 three-day trip fee for Second Session Upper Teens and Work Program campers.


There is an additional charge for those who choose bus transportation of $60 per child round trip.

Tuition Policy

All camper summer tuition must be paid in full by April 16.  It is camp's policy that summer tuition becomes non-refundable after April 16.  Surprise Lake Camp maintains a deep commitment to ensuring that camp is affordable to all families. If, at any time, you have questions about tuition, payment, or deadlines, please call us to have a confidential conversation.

Refund Policy

Full refunds will be given for campers on a “Waiting List” (those not able to be placed in their desired session at Camp) if at any time they choose to be removed from the list or are ultimately unable to be placed. 

A refund, on a pro-rated basis, will be made for a camper that is withdrawn from Camp for a medical issue.

No refunds will be issued if a camper is withdrawn for any non-medical issues including, but not limited to:  Camper’s homesickness; Camper’s refusal or inability to participate in normal activities at Camp;  Camper’s violation of any rules, regulations or policies at Camp for which the camper has been provided notice, and as described in our other written policies.

All cancellations or changes to enrollment must be in writing and emailed to [email protected].


Camp is grateful to the many families over the years that have elected to donate refunds to which they were entitled to camp’s scholarship fund.
