Surprise Lake Camp is conveniently located in New York’s beautiful Hudson Valley — an easy drive from New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

3 hours from Philadelphia, PA
Train: Surprise Lake Camp is 15 minutes by car from the Cold Spring, NY Metro-North train station. Parents who wish to travel by train to visit camp must arrange for their own taxi or uber to camp.
Campers arrive by bus, car and plane. If you would like your child to fly to Camp, please contact the Camp Office to discuss your arrangements PRIOR to booking tickets.
Bus to Camp
We are happy to be able to provide busing for the summer of 2024! Round-trip transportation will cost $200. The sign-up form can be found in your CampInTouch account with the rest of the 2024 camp forms.
Drop-off/pick-up locations will be:
- Brooklyn (Park Slope)
- New Jersey (Manalapan)
- Long Island (Plainview)
Minimum registration will be required at each location.
Driving to Camp
We will be providing detailed information about camper drop-off as we get closer to the summer.

All airport pick-ups are by prior arrangement only, subject to availability. Please contact Abbe, Assistant Camp Director, to discuss PRIOR to booking any travel tickets.
