Unconventionally Fabulous Fashion Show

The campers of Boulder Hill put on an Unconventionally Fabulous Fashion Show on Monday night. They were split into eight teams, given recycled items along with supplies they’ve been collecting for the show. They had two hours to work on their outfits.

As each camper walked out, their team members explained the inspiration and materials used for the recycled masterpieces. Let’s just say, Amazon played a large part in this wardrobe. From gowns made out of garbage bags to purses made from chip bags, the creativity was flowing.

When campers participate in creative programming, they bring this extra bout of excitement. It’s something new and different from daily activities. They create memories with people they wouldn’t typically be drawn towards and their ideas mesh together into something they can be proud of.

While every outfit was a showstopper, the first place outfit was made by cutting an Amazon envelope and creating a lace in the back for a corset look and feel. The skirt was made of brown paper bag, with a red-ribbon design around the front and paired with a finishing accessory of a Lays potato chip bag.

Pictured above are all of the models, in their “designer” outfits.
