Highlights of the Day:
This morning we say goodbye to our session one campers. It’s hard to believe that arrival day was nearly four weeks ago. As the busses roll out, we give thought to first session. Fourth of July, Simon Sez, sports games against other camps, trips to waterparks, daily programming, creative activities and so many other things where the goal is to form friendships, try new things and have a good time. Surprise Lake Camp makes physical and emotional growth, fun.
Later today, we welcome families of two-session campers for Visiting Day. As tents go up on Senior Hill and Lakeside, campers reunite with their families, show them their bunks and tell stories, they hold a sense of pride, for this is where they gain independence. Something as minimal as making their bed, choosing their outfit or trying a new activity becomes a bigger deal than usual.
We are so happy to welcome you to our home, whether for pick-up or visiting day.
