Welcoming Shabbat with Paul “Music” & Special Announcement

March 26, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 6:30 pm
Join us online to sing familiar SLC Shabbat songs and welcome Shabbat together with Paul “Music,” Elaine and other guest hosts.
We will also welcome Passover AND have a chance to learn more about taking part in a one of a kind moment to take part in a very special project.
Since you watched this link (did you?), we want to let you know that during the Zoom on the 26th we will announce  an activity for our entire SLC family (especially our campers) to participate in. We will have giveaways, trivia, nestling and a chance to see/chat with friends. It’s basically a carnival without the dunk tank. We can’t wait to see all of our Campers, Staff, Parents, Alumni, Donors and everyone else in the SLC Family.
This week you will have two different ways to connect.

Join us through SLC’s Facebook Page

or

Join us on Zoom: https://zoom.us/j/237090355

Please note, in order to join this Zoom session, you must enter your full name into the Zoom screen name field and turn on your video.

If you join on Zoom you will be able to see other participants who chose to join with their camera’s on – you will only hear Paul and his crew but you will be able to see everyone else (especially if you select the “gallery” view in your Zoom app and you will be able to chat with everyone (either on Zoom or FB).

Here are the lyrics to the songs we will be singing, please sing along!

Mi Shebeirach
Music and Lyrics Debbie Friedman

Mi Shebeirach avoteinu

M’kor hab’racha l’imoteinu

May the source of strength,

Who blessed the ones before us,

Help us find the courage to make our lives a blessing,

And let us say, Amen.

Mi shebeirach imoteinu

M’kor habrachah l’avoteinu

Bless those in need of healing with r’fuah sh’leimah,

The renewal of body, the renewal of spirit,

And let us say, Amen

We Had To Rush Out Of Egypt-

New words and music adaptation Paul Suchow –
Adapted from traditional Gospel Song- ” Lonesome Valley”

We had to rush, out of Egypt, We had to rush, out hand in hand
On the bumpy, road to freedom, traveling to, The Promised Land

Now Moses was a Bible hero, He was a prophet brave and true
Up against, an angry Pharoh . He showed what faith, can do for you

We had to rush, out of Egypt, We had to rush, out hand in hand
On the bumpy, road to freedom, traveling to, The Promised Land

And so you ask: ” Why eat this matzah? Why is this, a different night?
Why eat bitter herbs, in salt water? And why do we dip, these veggies twice?

We had to rush, out of Egypt, We had to rush, out hand in hand
On the bumpy, road to freedom, traveling to, The Promised Land

And we will learn, so much this evening, Bout’ the history, of the Jews
Now we must “Pass-over” this story. We got to teach, our children too

We had to rush, out of Egypt, We had to rush out hand in hand
On the bumpy, road to freedom, traveling to, The Promised Land

Nestling

Nestled neath the shady tree

Lies our camp so dear

Where the Lake Surprise flows

Sparkling far and near.

Blue and white, Blue and white

Colors of SLC (SLC!)

We will always sing thy praise

We’ll e’er be true to thee.

Day is done

Gone the sun

From the lake, from the hills, from the sky.

All is well

Safely rest

God is nigh.
