Endowment Giving

A gift to SLC’s Endowment helps to ensure that Surprise Lake Camp will continue to thrive well into the future!

What is an endowment? Built up from many donations, the endowment fund’s original dollars are invested, and the income from the investment is used in support of SLC’s campers, programs, and grounds. Sometimes, in addition to the principal (original donation), the income is also reinvested, which grows the principal.

In 2024, JCamp180, a program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, agreed to provide an Endowment Accelerator Matching Grant to Surprise Lake Camp! Through this four-year opportunity, JCamp180 will provide $1 for every $3 raised for our endowment.
