Why Donate?

When you make a charitable gift to Surprise Lake Camp, you give children life-changing experiences. You partner with us to provide campers confidence, growth, friendships, and Jewish identity. You strengthen camp programs and enhance camp facilities. And you become part of more than a century’s commitment to tuition assistance.

Your Gift Matters

Welcome to the circle of alumni, parents, friends, and organizations whose passion sustains SLC.

1902 Legacy Society

Create a legacy beyond your lifetime, with lasting impact for the future of Surprise Lake Camp. You can be of any age and financial means. All it takes to join The 1902 Society is to sign a Letter of Intent, which says that you plan to make a gift to SLC in your will or estate plans. Hundreds of alumni, parents, and SLC friends are already members.

Camper Scholarships

True to its founding vision, Surprise Lake Camp is committed to providing the magic of summer camp to every child, regardless of ability to pay. Thanks to SLC’s generous donors, half of SLC campers can depend on scholarship assistance. We’re immensely proud that SLC commits more funds to this effort each year than just about any other Jewish camp in North America, according to the Foundation for Jewish Camp. Your support makes camp possible for many, many camp families.

Bunks & Facilities

Investing in the buildings and physical resources of SLC gives each camper the best, fullest, safest, most enriching experience possible. Generous donors help SLC enhance facilities, replenish arts and sports equipment, and give our beloved camp the care and upkeep it needs. From new lodges and bunks to maintenance of paint, roofs, and plumbing, the tangible aspects of camp matter to campers every day.
