Staff Spotlight: Roni Lerner
Roni Lerner lives and breathes SLC and we can’t wait to have her back just as much as we know she can’t wait to be back! Roni always has a smile on her face when she is at camp and the campers love her energy.
How many summers have you spent at SLC?
I have been going to camp for nine summers!
What is your favorite activity at SLC?
My favorite activity at SLC has to be olympics!
What is your favorite meal at Camp?
My favorite camp meal is barbecue! You can always find me singing “bar bar bar barbecue… barbecue!”
What do you do when you are not at Camp?
When I’m not at camp I am counting down the days until I am back at camp. I also participate in BBYO, a Jewish youth group for teens.
What are you looking forward to this summer?
I’m looking forward to being a counselor and having my own group of campers! I am also looking forward to hanging out with my friends and making new friends, oh and swimming in the lake!
What is your superpower?
My superpower is making people laugh!
Who would you most like to meet (living or dead) and why?
I would like to meet the person who opened Surprise Lake Camp so I can thank them for giving me my home and the place I love most.
What is your favorite Camp song?
My favorite Camp song is “This is My Home” written by Paul Suchow because I learned it when I was a camper and it has stuck with me ever since.
