Mezuzah Fundraiser

Leave Your Mark on SLC and
Reserve a Mezuzah Today!

What could be better than spreading the 613 Mitzvot and reinforcing the importance of Jewish culture with a daily reminder of culture, faith, goodwill, and positivity at SLC?!?

What are the 613 Mitzvot? The 613 Mitzvot outlines “best practices” in daily behaviors, with topics ranging from family life and property ownership, to business ethics, nutrition, philanthropy, and fashionable clothing. One traditional symbol and blessing that we have an opportunity to better observe at Surprise Lake Camp is the addition of mezuzah(s) being affixed to the doorframes and entryways of our buildings.

What is a Mezuzah? It is a small case (typically no larger than a thick marker) that houses a tiny scroll of kosher parchment with a handwritten prayer that is affixed to a door frame at an angle while saying a prayer. The meaning behind this symbol is simple – to be a constant reminder of the presence of 613 Mitzvot.

When you meet the donation threshold to purchase a mezuzah for Surprise Lake Camp, your [chosen] name will be placed on the doorframe alongside it, as well as memorialized in SLC’s onsite Museum!
